Traveling for Taverns endorses Barack Obama

The Republican Party should change their name because it seems that there are two Republican parties. There are the folks that are concerned about fiscal matters, conservative values and the places they live. However, the talking heads of Republican Party are utterly insane. The current faces of the Republican Party, whether I’m watching Fox News, MSNBC, CBS or reading online, are assholes. They have nothing to do with the Republican Party of the past. I’m concerned about my friends and family who want to vote for this “contemporary” Republican party. In this election, my vote will run the gamut when it comes to local politics. I’m not sticking to just Democrats. However, on a national scale if we elect Mitt Romney, we are taking a giant step backwards in this country, fiscally, socially, and internationally. Politics aren’t like your favorite football team, you can’t afford to back your team regardless of what irresponsible decisions they make.

Politics should have absolutely nothing to do with religion or God. The current faces of Republican Party want to take away women’s rights, gay-rights and move this country back to the dark ages. It is no business of our government to decide what Americans can and cannot do with their own bodies. That alone should keep you from voting for Mitt Romney. But there’s plenty more, the Romney and Ryan ticket go after the poor with an ax. The efforts to keep the poor from voting are despicable. Seems to me that’s a stark contrast to what the Bible would steer Republicans to do. The party does make decisions based on God except when it comes to the dollars of the wealthiest. That only has to do with increasing the riches of one percent. I guess God’s power only goes so far.

I like mountains, the Great Lakes, blue skies and nature, yet the Romney-Ryan ticket seems to think that making it easier to fill up corporate jets is more valuable than our environment. Mitt will reverse EPA pollution rules and give the oil industry a greater say in environmental policy. Really? Did we not learn from BP? Maybe allowing for drilling off Florida isn’t the best approach. Mitt said in the debates that we focus too much on “green” efforts. According to Romney, the new mileage goals of the Obama administration are “extreme.” Yet, the auto industry brass was involved in the mileage goals and is now in the process of using technology to meet them. I forgot, Mitt wanted the auto industry to go bankrupt.

I don’t have time to cover all the reasons a Romney-Ryan presidency would be the wrong direction for this county.

So Mitt from me to you.

I’m not part of that 47% that you shouldn’t worry about, I’m right in your demographic. I’m white, a business owner, an investor and I have an education. Oh wait, I think its my education that helps me realize we have a responsibility to others and the world around us. You know, that education that we should just ask our parents for…

And I want president I can’t have a pint with.

Best,

Ryan
